Fourth Amendment
“The right of people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons and things to be seized.” (Fourth Amendment)
Yesterday District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor decided that the Bush administration’s wiretapping program is illegal. I like how a fellow blogger phrased the event “District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor just pissed in Scooter B’s [which is what she calls GW] Nixonian Corn Flakes.” I absolutely love it.
I also like Judge Anna Diggs Taylor’s closing statement (a quote originally from Chief Justice Earl Warren from 1967) “Implicit in the term ‘national defense’ is the notion of defending those values and ideas which set this nation apart.” A true patriot. Someone please get me an industrial strength cloning machine.
